Jules was looking for her lost childhood, nursing a fantasy that she was a better person then, that she was happier then, that all was right with the world, that all her friends were alive and well, and that ultimately she could return to that world. But, as the old saying goes, we can never truly go home. "the past is ashes" . (I can't remember who said this originally.) But, "here we are now, entertain us" (Kurt Kobain of Nirvana) is a truth, we must simply entertain ourselves today.
