Honestly, it depends on the age, me being more in the early teens, I enjoyed the four books very much, I actually just finished Inheritance about 20 minutes ago. The books can get boring, but after a bit if you read it its a real page turner. (well for me at least).
If you can get past the boring part very early on I think you should be able to like the book.
