Alexandria asked:

I really want to read these books, but my library only has book 4. Do I have to read the books in chronological order to understand the plot?

Amanda No you don't need to read them in order. The plots are not linked from book to book. The only holdover is that one of the lead detectives from the previous book will narrate the following book so you may lose some character insight there. I also started with Broken Harbor and an now reading In the Woods.
