I'm sorry that you did not enjoy it. I realize that this book is not for everyone. I don't believe it was described as being funny. In fact, with her mother being ill, funny was definitely not my intent. Perhaps you will find the other two books in the series to you liking.

I enjoyed the book immensely. I'd be interested in knowing your reasons for saying the book was (dum) did you mean dumb...and not funny. The Book was more adventure and fantasy fiction to me.
