*Television show* not film. Wrong thing. This book is a spin off from the ABC Family (now Freeform) Televsion show, not film.
It DID happen, but this story is not based on anything factual from the stories of anyone who had actually been switched a birth. Perhaps loosely based on their stories, but not 100% based on the truth.
