Not really. It deals with sex, drugs and some other stuff I don't think a 9 year old should be reading quite yet.

No,I don't think it is,at least thirteen i suppose,because the content of the book is not good enough for kids who are 9 year old's..first of all no kid will get what's in it,and secondly this can actually spoil the perception of that kid.. though reading can be done at any age..but it will be better if you don't recommend it to such young kids

It's a coming of age book filled with all the experiences and feelings associated with becoming an adult in today's world. There's a fair bit of recreational drug taking in it, as it reflects what life is like for many teenagers, in all its totality.
