Fred Snowardt asked:

Why is it that Ruta Sepetys can write a captivating novel set in a prostitution environment - and not use one vulgarity, but, other authors need to insert one or two in every sentence? (I am a male reader).

Jessica Fuck if I know.
Rachel Proof that one does not need to lie in the gutter to appreciate the sidewalk.

When one must rely on vulgarity, profanity, etc. to sell a book and use the excuse that they are quoting or they have to portray how things really are, they come across uneducated and limited.

Someone who has the gift and power to use words can send the same message even more loud and clear and poignant.
Joy Louise Not sure, but it made the book even more amazing!
Yolanda Jessica, really? How very unladylike like!
Becka Thompson Probably because it's geared toward Young Adult.
