It's left open. Davey leaves letters in the cave for Wolf and she indicates that she hopes they'll see one another again someday. As for her friends in Atlantic City, that's left open as well. Davey says she wonders if her friends have changed in the past year but the book ends before we find out. I would have liked to find out, but Ms. Blume leaves it up to the readers.
