Derek B. Miller:
I've read Norwegian by Night, & loved it. I am reading American by Day and have the same feelings. I am especially intrigued about your view of Americans and racism. I feel like both stories deserve sequels in their distinct trajectories. I want to know more about the impact of Mr. Horowitz's death. I want to know the outcome of Sigrid's visit to America. Prequels are inconsequential to me. Will you write outcomes?
Derek B. Miller
I've given some thought to a final story for Sigrid (and Irv). I'm still mulling it over. As for prequels: HOW TO FIND YOUR WAY IN THE DARK really isn't some cheap franchise move to shoe-horn in a backstory. It's a huge, epic, coming-of-age American novel set during WWII and featuring a young Sheldon. It was a NYT Best Mystery of 2021 and a Finalist for the National Jewish Book Award. I'm very proud of that book!

Derek - Words can not do justice to how much I enjoyed 'The Girl In Green.' The book took a complex subject and made into an entertain and compelling story. The characters were memorable and the humanistic story line was elegantly written. I will be recommending your book to all of my friends. Consider me a huge fan! Are you working on anything new?

Dear Derek, congratulations on Norwegian by Night, I just finished it and though it was a brilliant debut novel. In my review I described what I thought was a 'Catch-22' like scene with Donny and Mario talking about shooting Koreans. Were you influenced at all by that great novel? My second question, is your wife Norwegian? You seemed to have some very perceptive insights into Norwegian culture.
