Goodreads asked Catherine Avizinis:

What’s your advice for aspiring writers?

Catherine Avizinis Anyone who wishes they were a writer needs to write. It has been said over and over again, just write. If you want to be an author, one who is published and read, then stop waiting for the right time, the free moment, the get away weekend; you need to get organized, make an outline and get at it.
The wishing author needs to know their characters and story line inside and out in order to write with clear points and make those plot twists work! Get practical and make a plan to tell your story. It's work, and know that before you start; it's a job. And if you want to make money at your writing, be realistic, you can't earn money for a story that is not finished, a book that is not written. Write! When it's good - you'll know it. Don't give up on getting published, but use the internet to find self-publishing houses to get your works out there for readers to get to know you. Wishing to be a writer? Wish to be read!
