I read the book but haven't really understood what downworlders are? Is anyone intersted in explaining?

Lila Wayne Basically like when shadowhunters are a mixed-breed form of angels and humans and demons are totally pure-blooded demons, downworlders are some sorts of humanoids with slight demon blood in them. Eg. of downworlders are the faeries, warlocks, werewolves, vampires, etc. They aren't entirely demonic, that's why sensible shadowhunters dont go around slaughtering downworlders, but if the downworlders cause trouble, shadowhunters have all the right in the world to finish them off.
Natalie Downworlders are basically all the fantasy creatures described in the book (except for demons): werewolves, vampires, fairies, etc. Most of them (maybe all) have some form of demon blood in them. The Shadowhunters have some sort of treaty with them that says they're in an alliance against the demons, but the Shadowhunters are very, very prejudiced against the Downworlders, even in cases where they prove to be pretty helpful.
Anna Smith Downworlders are the vampires, faeries, warlocks and Lycanthropys(Were Wolves). They have a little bit of demon blood in them as well. Don't get them mixed with demons though!
Catherine A. Downworlders are beings- faeries, lycanthropes (werewolves), vampires, and warlocks- that are in some part demon. Faeries are half angel and half demon; werewolves were mudanes or Shadowhunters infected with a demon disease (same with vampires, just a different disease); and warlocks are half human and half demon. They are just called Downworlders as a whole.
