Goodreads asked Rachel-Marie Boughton:

How do you get inspired to write?

Rachel-Marie Boughton Sometimes inspiration can come from the silliest of places, like the sound of a sneeze, or a simple slip of the tongue. Other times it arrives in the form of an overly vivid dream. More often than not, I find myself sitting down to draw an image that lingers in the back of my mind, and as I draw it, I start to hear the story to which that face belongs. There may not even be a name initially, but as I put pen to paper, the story unravels itself before me.
