Goodreads asked Nancy LiPetri:

What’s your advice for aspiring writers?

Nancy LiPetri If "aspiring" means you're not already in the habit of putting words down on paper (or onto a screen), then you probably aren't meant to be a writer. I hear authors agree with what I know about myself, that writers are compelled to express themselves in writing. But if "aspiring" means you write and want to turn it into a career, then my advice is to practice your craft every day...and do it because it's a release for a passion. Don't do it for money, because the writing will reflect lack of passion, and most of us don't end up making much coin.
