Goodreads asked Cobus Vermeulen:

What’s your advice for aspiring writers?

Cobus Vermeulen 3. Aspiring Writers.
That’s in face SO Easy and Yet SO VERY-very Hard.
I’ve seen this on Twitter a Great Deal.
As Long as you say to yourself,
You’re An Aspiring Writer,
That’s All You’ll Be!

You do not NEED to be Published to be a Writer, Author or a Novelist!

BUT, You’ll NEED to have Something Finished, Not necessarily put OUT-There;
AND then it will be Good for Someone to tell you what they Think of your Material.

Think of it in this Regard, Every Single Artist;
No matter who they are – Everyone of them started where Any Aspiring Writer is now while they May be reading this Answer.

When You walk into a New Day-Job,
You Aspire in doing the best you can, Keeping that Job UNTIL something Better comes along.
Everyone of us Aspire to be Better,

Just work at it, Finish your Project and then Do the HARDER work in the Grammar, Spelling, and the Editing – then You know,
You’ve already become a Fully-Fledged Writer…

Published and success in that;
That’s a whole different story – altogether!
