Goodreads asked Marta Northcutt:

How do you deal with writer’s block?

Marta Northcutt I have less time to write than I have things to write about so I don't get writer's block very often. When I have a scene that I just can't put together I put it aside and work on another part of the book. Then I make sure to let my mind wander on the troublesome scene while I am doing something mundane. I get great breakthroughs when I am doing dishes, walking, waiting at the doctors. I don't even listen to music when I rollerblade anymore so my mind can wander. This method is also very useful for solving the problems of the church Christmas party and naughty children.
