We already know she is dying and that she eventually will die. So she died after Augustus died, so yeah as depressing as it sounds; They are both dead

well, the reason why augustus died was to create some kind of suspense in the book. if hazel died then i mean it would not be as good, but because augustus died it kinda makes you think the whole book over again
