Goodreads asked J.J. DiBenedetto:

How do you deal with writer’s block?

J.J. DiBenedetto What usually works for me is skipping ahead. If I'm stuck with a scene or I don't know where the book should go next, I start writing a later scene that I know will have to happen (a big confrontation later in the book, etc) and by the time I'm finished, I generally find that I can pick up where I was stuck earlier.
