Paul B. Thompson
I was approached by an editor at Oxford University Press about writing a contribution on sustainability for Oxford's "What Everyone Needs to Know" series. I was attracted by the idea of writing for a general audience, and I had just finished developing Michigan State University's core course "Theoretical Foundations of Sustainability" with Patricia Norris. Norris is an economist and we found our skills to be complementary in shaping the course content. We were both keen to see whether we could translate that into a book for general readers.
