Carielyn Mills
the old lady who was part of the group of people who were solving the founder's puzzle by slowly reading books (i forget her name) mentions at one point how some of the stories were harder to get through and that some were more interesting. i can't find that part since i don't have an e-version of this book, but maybe she says more about this in that section (when clay visits her in the house on the hill with all those steps).
