Did anyone else think that sending the poems to the judge was out of character for Jeri, who had tried so hard to hide her identity? I was really disappointed in the second half of the book. I wanted the judge to be arrested and have a trial.

Up to that point Jeri did everything to make sure she wasn't discovered and then she just sent the judge poems all in an effort to move the plot forward. There were other ways Grisham could have had the judge discover her identity, considering that two of the murders were still actively being investigated, the judge could have discovered that someone was on to him.(less)
