Myron Brown Honestly this was the point where I checked out of the book. That plot contrivance contained everything I hated about Thrillers. Up to that point Jeri did everything to make sure she wasn't discovered and then she just sent the judge poems all in an effort to move the plot forward. There were other ways Grisham could have had the judge discover her identity, considering that two of the murders were still actively being investigated, the judge could have discovered that someone was on to him.
Julie Tappero It made no sense to me, and I'm glad others agreed. From that point on I just wasn't as interested in this story.
Shelley After twenty years, she was tired of living in fear, and decided to risk drawing The Judge out. She was tired of being afraid, and it was time to be out of character. Prolonged stress causes us to push the envelope.

Tanyam Totally! I think that after that moment the story went downhill.
