Goodreads asked Lynn Todd:

How do you get inspired to write?

Lynn Todd I guess there's no specific way I am inspired. I tend to read something that takes my mind on its own journey. I write most freely and unimpeded when in a comfortable setting which is uninterrupted, such as outside in nature with no one around. It cleanses my mind of garbage and allows free flow of creativity. My original inspiration comes from being a young child on my grandmother's lap as she read to me. She didn't read nursery rhymes, she read things like Tennnyson's Lady of Shallot, Noyes' The Highwayman and Field's Little Boy Blue, in addition to her own creations which was a series starring Penny and Pepper. I have toyed with the idea of creating my own children's series using her character names. She never read to me as a child. She read to me as an adult and helped me to understand. I can still hear the cadence of her voice when I reread those infamous poems I first heard as a young child.
