Goodreads asked Melissa Wadsworth:

What’s the best thing about being a writer?

Melissa Wadsworth Getting clarity on one's own thoughts, dreams, and vision for the future. Clarity is such a gift. One-time clarity is not enough since we are always in transition. So we need a method of checking in with ourselves - what we're noticing, how we're feeling, what we believe - and writing allows that. In particular, my writing is a way of challenging old stories and writing a new story about the future that is more optimistic and visionary than the old stories that were handed down culturally and through social programming.
