Darryl Bishop My advice for aspiring writers?
Don't be discouraged. With the advent of indepent/self publishing resources it's easier more than ever to publish a book, the key is staying motivated when your sales don't reflect your vision. A lot of major publishing companies don't accept submissions from unknown authors. What I've done personally is before I even got published, I posted my stories on my page. I built a following I even considered getting published. That way, I got honest feedback which really helped me improve my writings. If you plan to do something similar, make sure your page is private or tag only the people you want to see your notes. It's a very good way to get a feel for what people like and in doing so, you learn to accept constructive criticism and it builds your confidence.
