asked:
In what year does this book take place? All the reviews refer to early 1900's. Quite a difference between 1900-1914, 1914-1918 the war years, 1918-1920 pre roaring 20's, and the roaring twenties. The cover pictures look like 1900-1910 or maybe even the 1890's.

sorry to hear it was taking place around 1901....the story sounds good, but I prefer books during the 2014 to current days....does she write more current times books and can anyone suggest if she does?
Susan Johnson
Plus on Ellis Island they get the chocolate cake that says it is 1901
