It's mid-grade, so 8-12 year olds. Eight year olds would have to be confident readers.

I would agree because I read it when I was 8 and it was hard to understand but read it again recently and loved it

I would recommend 10yrs to 13yrs. Its a little hard to understand. I think for this book it would be better for an older kid to read it because littler kids might not understand the meaning of this book!
