Where did you get the idea for your most recent book?
A conversation with an American acquaintance turned to school education. After I related a story about a French boarding school with its eleven daily hours of classwork, described by Alexey Krylov in his memoir, my interlocutor asked me to email him information about the English edition. I promised to do it, having no doubts that such an important book had been translated into all major languages.
First I googled it, then I searched library catalogs, and as a last resort I contacted Krylov’s family. Imagine my surprise when I found that the book had never been translated!
To keep the story short, I decided to translate Professor Krylov's Navy
Now this great book is finally available in English.
