I think he was saying Mama to Abby. Maybe the smell of the blanket reminded him of his Mother or something familiar and it made him want it.

I didn't like it or think it needed to be added as an ending. It is a real stretch that the child is connected to the blanket if he never met his mother unless they are suggesting that he did.

Yeah, I thought since David was just one year old, he would have been satisfied with his own blanket. Personally, I would have burned the damn thing!
