Goodreads asked Richard Rigoli:

How do you deal with writer’s block?

Richard Rigoli When I get stuck on a particular scene (which happens quite a bit), what has worked most often for me is to pull out my overview and work on another part of the book for a while. Working on events planned for later (or earlier) in the novel will usually give me a fresh perspective on the scene I was having difficulty with.
