Goodreads asked Alan Leddon:

How do you get inspired to write?

Alan Leddon I have wanted to be a writer as long as I can remember. I made stabs at writing in high school, with support from a certain AP English teacher (Mr. Presutti), and I did a lot of writing while in the Navy. Afterwards, I wrote for my college newspapers. After college, I got an occasional poem or short story published, with a lot more rejection letters than acceptance letters.
Much later, with gas prices rising out of control, I realized I needed another stream of income. So, I returned to writing, and actually started getting larger works published - enough to keep my gas tank full!
