Mark Treble Pathos, pure and simple. There are lighter moments and there are funny scenes. The book, though, is best read as pathos.
Andreadl The book has so many funny moments of either a perfect one liner, or fantastic description that allows the characters to come alive. There are some darker moments, but I did not find it to be sad.
Jeanne Mixon I think this is a really good question. It's a very masculine novel and I think that made it difficult for me to figure out whether it was more funny or sad. I especially think the ending was pure male fantasy -- the choice between a new life, repairing the old one, or just running away altogether.
