Annabelle asked:

I wish there was a book from Ian's POV. Or maybe a couple chapters from his POV. That would have made the book perfect. It's so hard to understand what he did. I wish there was more about his relationship with Laila to really understand his decisions. Does anyone else feel this way?

Mary I wish there were more with these characters as well, but I think what happened with Laila was very simple. She wanted him, and she threw herself at him. When he resisted, she brought up things that played upon his insecurities. Ian is a very needy person to be in a long-distance relationship successfully and has too much baggage from his childhood to really feel good about himself and secure. He didn't love himself, so he engaged in self-sabotaging behavior. Ian is very similar to Kellan Kyle (from SC Stephens' Thoughtless series) in personality and motivations.
