At this point, I've written three relatively long novels. Amazingly, I've never suffered from writer's block. Of course, I'm not under pressure to deliver by a particular deadline, so if I don't feel like writing for a day or even a week, I don't worry about it. Also, once I write a chapter or two (often the beginning or the end) and flesh out characters, I create a loose outline. Then, at any time, I can pick a section and just write it. I may throw it away later or rewrite it, but I'm never blocked because I always have plan of what needs to be written.
