He also suspects a supernatural element, because Wayne's wounds matched Brother Minor's exactly, indicating some sort of karmic retribution. But, since he knows how crazy that sounds, he tells everyone that he killed Wayne to prevent his escape. The reader never finds out for sure. (hide spoiler)]
Marion Malsbury This is where it gets confusing....I felt like he was suggesting the second coming and it was a "Jesus" who got vengeance with the eye for the virtual eye bit. No one knew how Brother Jobe could have gotten into the cell as the mayor held the only key and the cell door was still locked...? I found the end of this story confusing and odd and a little random?
