Linette, I've read both Speaker for the Dead and Xenocide. Whatever you thought of Ender's Game, don't expect more of the same. The sequels are completely different and almost feel as if they're from another series. They deal much more with Ender's inner turmoil, but it manifests in different characters and in other, less exciting forms (a ton of family strife). Anyone who is expecting a direct continuation of Ender's Game will be extremely disappointed.
This is not to knock the sequels, just a little heads up. There's some great stuff in there if you stick it out.
