Delirium is amazing although a bit boring at some parts. Book 2 is really disappointing though. I really liked the book although I hated the main character. The procedure is an operation that I think takes out the part in our brain that makes you loveless. Literally. It leaves you with a three long pronged scar behind or ear. You get it when you're eighteen or so.
