Goodreads asked Melissa Walshe:

How do you deal with writer’s block?

Melissa Walshe My experience with writer's block is that it tends to reflect a lack of preparation on my part. Certain parts of the story just have flow, and when I'm working on those pieces, it can feel like I'm taking dictation from some muse on my shoulder...but those are also usually the pieces that need the most revision. My favorite scenes when all is said and done are, so far, almost always the ones where "block" forced me to stop and think through character motivations, logical consequences, and what needed to happen to get my characters to the next scene.
