Goodreads asked Consuelo Saah Baehr:

What’s your advice for aspiring writers?

Consuelo Saah Baehr My advice to aspiring writers is to find something else to do. I say that with all seriousness because writing interferes with a normal emotional life and keeps you from participating in a full way. Writers use every bit of their life experience without remorse. They are both cold observer and participant. Guess who has the dominant role? If you decide to be a writer (and usually there is no "decide" about it) be prepared to be hounded by that monkey for the rest of your life.
