Anybody have any opinions on why no character ever goes swimming, wading, or otherwise interacting with the water around the island other than to travel over it? Because altho I wouldn't myself, I find this an odd attitude for a whole houseful and a whole town!

Michael Fellows The story takes place during the "off-season" so my guess is that the water is too cold for swimming.
