Where did you get the idea for your most recent book?

Tim Wynn Often when we write, we have a specific story in mind from the beginning.

For our latest book, “Trespassers,” my brother and I intentionally took a different approach. We wanted to be completely unencumbered, so we started with the first sentence, which is still the same in the finished version of the novel: “Earth hovered a hundred feet below . . . “

From there, we simply asked ourselves what should follow. What should this spaceship be doing? Abducting someone, of course. What about abducting the WRONG person? That’s even better. Each chapter grew from there, one at a time. When we reached the end, we did decide to go back and rework the middle of the story, but by then we had the characters in place.
