Goodreads asked Alan Kirby:

Where did you get the idea for your most recent book?

Alan Kirby My brother and I were talking one day about childhood stories from our small town in Indiana. We had both been gone from there for over forty years. One laugh led to another and I found myself jotting down old stories before I forgot them. Then an idea for a novel about two brothers going home to settle a neighbor's estate started to germinate. We both thought the idea would resonate with the Boomer crowd. It turns out that the idea seems to have some cross-generational appeal as well.
