Where did you get the idea for your most recent book?

Doug M. Cummings I spent nearly twenty years covering crime in the Chicago suburbs. One story that stood out was the murder of a young woman who was shotgunned in her driveway. That provided my inspiration for EASY EVIL. While the real case was fascinating (the woman's husband, a serviceman was serving in Germany but hired a stateside soldier to do the killing), I created a cop with a murder on his conscience to investigate the murder of a judge and her daughter in their driveway.
