It's well-written, but it's written from Huck's perspective so it's not written in proper English. Very few of the characters actually speak proper English simply because Mark Twain was writing as people would have actually spoken. Sometimes it's hard to read because of all the contractions, but it sounds very natural when you listen to it. There are various versions of it read on https://librivox.org/
