Personally I would read this series before Storm & Fury. I made the mistake of reading Storm & Fury first and I knew everything that was going to happen in this series after the first chapter of the first book. So definitely read the prequel series first! And about the Zayne thing... I don’t really want to give anything away but he is an option for both of the main characters in both series.
