Goodreads asked Andrew Conry-Murray:

How do you get inspired to write?

Andrew Conry-Murray I don't think "inspiration" is a reliable goad for a writer. To me, inspiration implies a fleeting jolt of energy or enthusiasm. Inspiration is a delight when it strikes, but it's not a substitute for steady, sustained effort. If you want to write, don't rely on inspiration. Set aside time every day to write, and then do the work. With regular, steady effort, you create the conditions to take full advantage of those moments when your mind leaps forward and carries you in a giddy rush to a place you didn't expect to go.
