Are the figures from Vietnam casualties strange to anyone else? What could he mean when George says we lost 80,000 casualties in 1967? That is very misleading to an ordinary reader especially worldwide.

Bill Garrison I think casualties in war refer to wounded as well as deceased. And Follett does make that distinction in the book I imagine.
