Why does it say that this is the first in a trilogy, but in the title it says Penn Cage #4?

Bravegirl01 It's the first in his "racial history of Natchez" series. It's not really a racial history, but it's Iles' attempts to come to grips with the evil that permeated the South, and Natchez in particular, during the civil rights era. Second in the series is The Bone Tree...the title of the third has been announced on Iles' website but is escaping me now.
Gmaharriet As Bravegirl01 says, it's the first in his "racial history of Natchez" series, but it's the 4th book in which Penn Cage is the main character, to be followed by The Bone Tree (5th) and I believe there is a 6th not yet published.
