I read the book then watched the movie. And to be honest, the movie was disappointing and at some point turned boring. The book is much better, the characters feel more real. I cried like a baby reading the book and didn't shed a tear when watching the movie. Read the book it is definitely worth reading.

I haven't seen the movie yet, but I will say that the book was fantastic. The book feels far less like a romance than the trailers make the movie out to be, more like a fabulous magical story.
