Start writing it down. Worry less about doing it well than about doing it at all. Take yourself seriously in this. Believe in the strength of your own voice. And while we're on the subject of voices, find an audience to read out loud to! I find that there's a collective dynamic and momentum inherent in "live lit" events that is incredibly energizing. Not just because you're throwing your words out to an audience, but by virtue of listening to your fellow writers and feeling their passion as well. It can spark tangents of thought and inspiration that may just not occur if you're sitting in front of a computer all by yourself.
