I could be wrong, but I don't think Rainbow Rowell ever tells us, and I think she left it out on purpose because, frankly, it didn't matter anymore.

She finishes the fanfic, I know I'm answering your question after ages since you asked, but still. After the story ends, in the 'FAQ' section the author has answered that Cath has most certainly finished the fanfic.
